I Tried AI Headshots So You Don't Have To: : An Honest Review from a Professional Photographer

As a photographer, I had to try.

I mean, this is where AI can actually replace me.

So I uploaded several selfies.

My fingers were crossed that I'd be impressed.

Then, I answered a few easy questions.

Waited for the results.

Amazed that after only 5 minutes I had more than a dozen images to chose from.

All while drinking my coffee on my couch.

Then I realized something important.

None of these people were me.

What's different?

The AI made dozens of little decisions.

Together, they create a person who isn't me.

A professional headshot isn't supposed to create a better version of you.

It's supposed to create the most confident version of the real you.

That's a big difference.

When someone meets you after seeing your LinkedIn profile, they should immediately think:

"Yep...that's exactly who I expected."

Trust starts there.

Headshots should not be AI. Headshots do not need to be AI if you have the right photographer.

Headshots are so uncomfortable, I haven't taken the time to find someone

who will make me feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Someone to make me feel good, and feel like I look good.

That's my why.

I don't expect you to love having your picture taken.

I just want to make it easier than you expected. And maybe even fun.

For now, my headshot is clients iphone shots, selfies, and remote triggers, for photos of myself. I will NOT be using my AI photos.
